Rebecca is an experienced Development Economist, a current PHD candidate and holder of a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, with over 20 years of professional experience focusing on rural development, women economic empowerment, capacity building, agribusiness development, markets analysis and linkages, value chain development and appraisal as well as project monitoring and evaluation. Her work spans across different sectors of the economy including agricultural research, private, NGO and agricultural consultancy sectors. Rebecca has held both senior and advisory positions within the development sector and has managed teams to generate knowledge, provide expert advice and also policy change. Her work experience and leadership skills have allowed her to engage and collaborate with both internal and external partners specializing in rural development projects and economic empowerment programs including markets facilitation and has gained wealth of experience in donor funded technical assistance projects, policy analysis and inclusive growth strategies. As the Managing Trustee of The Matilda Foundation, a registered PVO working with marginalized women and girls she has successfully implemented projects on WomenEmpowerment and Gender Equity through development of women groups and enhancing their income generating capacities.
