The MSUAS research and innovation thrust commits to impactful solutions to challenges affecting our immediate and global societies and humanity at large in an attempt to contribute significantly towards building sustainable future. This is enshrined in our university motto: “Research Innovation Sustainable Development”. In this view, research and innovation at MSUAS is closely aligned to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
RIPS spearheads research capacity building among both academic staff and students at MSUAS. The RIPS serves as administrative support to the Research Board. It is also our mandate to negotiate and manage research contracts with partners and funders on behalf of the university. We also keep track of all research, intellectual property, technology transfer and commercialisation output at MSUAS.
RIPS oversees the administration of postgraduate degree studies being Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees at MSUAS. In this regard, RIPS seeks to: provide an efficient administration platform for postgraduate studies; promote uptake of postgraduate studies and to provide seamless postgraduate students’ support services.
