Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent should have a strong appreciation of the various HR policies and procedures, and should be able to assist in the following HR activities:

• Recruitment, selection and appointment of staff.
• Administration of employee contracts in line with labour laws and maintaining an accurate employee database.
• Preparation of weekly and monthly wage bill schedules.
• Administration of an accurate employee leave register.

• Training and development.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Applicants must have a first degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent, plus at least twelve (12) months exposure in a University environment or large organisation.
• Experience and knowledge of dealing with workers under the Construction Industry and General Agriculture (Agriculture Industry) is an added advantage.
• The incumbent should be proficient in computer skills especially Microsoft excel, be of high integrity and should possess superior interpersonal and communication skills.

      Duties and Responsibilities

• Managing and administering the University’s insurance portfolio.
• Ensuring adequate insurance coverage for all the University assets and at right values
• Filing of insurance claims, monitors progress and verifies that payments have been made.
• Providing claims statistics for all policies showing loss ratios and claim experience.
• Compilation and administration of the University’s Strategic and Departmental Risk Register.

      Seedbed and Curing Supervisor (1 Post)

Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Seedbed and Curing Supervisor will assist across all the Farm Enterprise and is expected to perform the following duties:

      Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees the tobacco curing process, grading and bailing.
• Day to day supervision of seedbeds production operations.
• Effective workforce supervision, co-ordination and development.
• Facilitating health, safety and environmental issues in the workplace.
• Proper record keeping of all activities.
• Keep equipment and tools in a clean state after usage.
• Performing any other duties assigned from time to time.

      Desired Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Agronomy and/or Tobacco Production.
• Experience in Conventional seedbed and float seedbed production systems.
• Must be well versed with Modro, Chongololo, tunnel and Convectional curing systems.
• 3 years’ experience working on a tobacco farm.
• A Diploma in Agriculture will be an added advantage.
• Ability to ride a motorbike.
• A self-starter with a proven track record of results.
• Proficient and excellent understanding of various livestocks.
• Good animal and fodder crop husbandry skills.
• Ability to work standard hours and work beyond normal hours of work.

      Desired Qualifications and Experience

• The candidate must have a Certificate or Diploma in Cutting and Designing or equivalent.
• Experience in Cutting and Designing.
• Experience in sewing protective clothing, sportswear and interior Deco utilities.
• Familiar with operating heavy duty sewing machinery including overlocking machine.
• Experience in the Industry or University set up will be an added advantage.
• Being able to grasp the process of drafting requisitions and record keeping for ensuring transparency will be an added advantage.

           Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and have practical experience in a range of cyber security and forensics technical skills such as Networking Security, Computer Security, Cryptography, Penetration Testing, Digital Image Processing, Computer Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, Block Chain Technologies, Number Theory and Defensive Programming.

              Desired Qualifications

• BSc in Cyber Security and Forensic Computing/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering.
• MSc in Security and Forensic Computing/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• A PhD in Cyber Security and Forensic computing or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Relevant Professional Certifications such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are an added advantage.
