- DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED STATISTICS
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of supervising both undergraduate and post-graduate students’ research work and should be able to teach statistics modules in:
- Demography.
- Stochastic Analysis.
- Survival Analysis.
- Statistical Computing Courses.
Desired Qualifications
- BSc Statistics/ Operation Research or equivalent.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education (PGDHTE).
- MSc in Statistics/ Operations Research or equivalent.
- PhD an added advantage.
2 DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS & DEVELOPMENT
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be able to carry out research, supervise students’ dissertation, able to conduct practicals in agriculture and teach two of the following modules:
- Quantitative Analysis.
- Game Theory.
- Application of Linear Models.
- Environmental Economics.
Desired Qualifications
- BSc in Agriculture Economics or Equivalent with a 2.1 pass.
- MSc in Agriculture and Applied Economics or equivalent.
- A tertiary teaching qualification and experience is an added advantage
- A relevant PhD is a distinct advantage.
- COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (2 Posts)
Post A- Cyber Security and Forensic Computing
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and have practical experience in a range of cyber security and forensics technical skills such as Networking Security, Computer Security, Cryptography, Penetration Testing, Digital Image Processing, Computer Forensics, Artificial Intelligence, Block Chain Technologies, Number Theory and Defensive Programming.
Desired Qualifications
- BSc in Cyber Security and Forensic Computing/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering.
- MSc in Security and Forensic Computing/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- A PhD in Cyber Security and Forensic computing or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Relevant Professional Certifications such as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are an added advantage.
- Experience in teaching and/or supporting leaning in higher education.
- Must have experience in developing and teaching online courses.
Post B- Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and have practical experience in Data Science including Machine Leaning, Deep learning, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining, Data Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Computational Mathematics, Simulation Modelling, Artificial Intelligence, Expect Systems and Smart Applications
Desired Qualifications
- BSc in Data Science/ Data Analytics or equivalent.
- MSc in Data Science/ Data Analytics or equivalent.
- A PhD in Data Science/Data Analytics or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Relevant Professional Certifications such as a Certification such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP).
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) an added advantage.
- Experience in teaching and/or supporting leaning in higher education.
- Must have experience in developing and teaching online courses.
Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
- Teaching
The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.
- University Service and Community Engagement
The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.
- Research
The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
- Innovations
Innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.
- Industrialisation
Through commercialisation of goods and services.
